All events are subject to approval by Metro Public Health Department.

Welcome To Kink offers a discussion of BDSM terminology, safety, and legal issues, common mistakes and misconceptions, the whys and hows of what we do, and much more. This is a hybrid class with up to 25 in-person attendees and up to 100 attending the simultaneous broadcast on Zoom. This program will be live-streamed on Zoom but will NOT be recorded.

This class is one of three introductory classes held every month, called The Welcome Series. They need not be taken in any particular order, they can be taken multiple times, and though they are suggested for anyone new to BDSM or new to The Mark, they’re not required.

  • Presenter: Mercury
  • Who: This event is open to everyone who is 18 years of age or older. Non-members do not need a sponsor for this event.

Pandemic Protocols for In-Person Classes

  • Classes will be limited for now to the “Welcome Series” classes and will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00.
  • Classes will be held in the play space (2765 sqft), rather than the classroom (585 sqft) to ensure a minimum 6-ft social buffer.
  • Classes will be limited to 27 participants (25 students and 2 staff).
  • Attendees must register for the classes ahead of time and pay the $5 registration fee in advance. (No refunds will be provided for no-shows.)
  • Registration will be first-come-first-served and open at noon on the Tuesday prior to the class and close at 6:30 p.m. on the day of the class (Wednesday).
  • At the time of registration, you will be asked to select an arrival time — there are five arrival times with five tickets each, spaced five-minutes apart — to better limit queuing outside the front door. If you arrive earlier than your reservation time, please wait in your car until it is your time to approach the front door. Please try not to be later than your designated arrival time; but if you are, wait at the back of the line — if there is one — don’t attempt to cut ahead.
  • You will be required to wear a facemask during your entire visit to The Mark, starting when you set foot on the ramp to the front door.
Upon entering and before being allowed past the front lobby, one of our medical advocates will take your forehead temperature with a contactless thermometer and ask you the basic COVID-19 screening questions.
  • PowerPoint presentations will be displayed on the large screen at the rear of the stage.
  • Chairs are prearranged per the MPHD-approved floor plan and may not be moved — except if you bring your own wheelchair.
  • Once seated, students must remain in their chairs until the end of the presentation, unless they need to use the restroom, etc. and then must ensure that only one student is up at a time. (Staff will assist if needed.)
  • Outside food or drink will be not allowed.
  • The outdoor smoking deck is closed.
  • Please pay attention and follow any staff instruction and informational signage!

And Please…

Although we believe that we can reopen safely with the rules above, we ask those 65 years of age and older and those with the following medical conditions to carefully consider the potential health impacts of their attendance, as the CDC identifies folks in these categories to be at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19:

  • Cancer
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
  • Immuno-compromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant
  • Obesity (BMI – Body Mass Index – of 30 or higher)
  • Serious heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • (The list of the known/recognized “at risk” underlying medical conditions, as well as those conditions that “might cause increased risk” for severe illness from COVID-19 can be found here.)

By registering for this event, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people are present. By attending this event, you and any in your party voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Community Perspectives Inc.
